The Belgian Network on Natural Resources (RBRN) is a platform for exchange and consultation of Belgian organizations working on the issue of natural resource management in the South.
What do we mean by “natural resources”? Raw materials, extracted from or produced by nature, that are considered necessary for the basic needs of human activity and that have an economic and commercial value in its natural form.
For instance: forests, ores, oil, biodiversity, land,…
The Belgian Network has a specific thematic approach on natural resources, and studies the impact of their exploitation in various geographical areas (countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia).
The network works on the theme of natural resources in relation to the issues of peace, sustainable development and environmental conservation.
Our goals:
1/ to establish joint political projects based on a collective agenda towards Belgian and European policies regarding natural resources;
2/ reinforce its members’ awareness and lobbying actions;
3/ exchange and distribute information inside and outside the Network.
